Chapter Nine: Shonda

I could not believe the day that I was having. I feared that our story was not going to end well at all. Pulling off one more job seemed impossible as well. How are we supposed to do that when we did not know where Coco was? I guess KeNetra’s mom was going to take care of that. I really wanted to say no to the job after the dead maid had made the news so fast, but I could not leave my girl hanging with something like this. We always had each other’s back, and there was no need to not to in this situation. I just hoped that we could get this done and leave town as soon as possible. I got up and walked over to the window to hide my worried face from KeNetra. If she saw the look on my face she would definitely want to call this entire thing off, but we both knew that with her mother being involved that was not an option at all.

I began racking my brain for a fail proof escape plan. If our faces so happen to make the news we were going to need more than that. My phone began to ring. It was Coco. ‘I know this bitch is not calling me now,’ I thought to myself.

“KeNetra guess who’s calling me?” I said.

“It’s Coco isn’t it?” she asked.

I just nodded my head as I answered the phone.

“What do you want Coco?” I asked. No need for a proper hello with this bitch now.

“Wow, is that how we speak to our friends now? Did you watch the news?” she asked with a smile in voice.

“Where are you Coco?”

That was the only thing that I wanted to know.

“Back in the same state as you, you guys just left me here like I was not important or something,” anger spewed from her lips.

“What in the hell else did you think we were going to do? You killed her for no reason Coco. Are you trying to get all of us caught up or something? I guess you just said fuck it. I just don’t give a damn anymore about anything,” I said as I passed the phone to KeNetra.

I was done talking to her. Every word that came out of her mouth made me want to punch her in the throat several times.

“Bitch, what the fuck is your problem? You know what? I should have knocked your ass off when I had the chance, but no, Shonda thought your ass was her friend. I left you alone courtesy of her. Please believe that when I see you it is on, no questions asked,” I heard KeNetra say before she hung up the phone and gave it back to me.

“That bitch has a lot of nerves calling like nothing ever happened. I cannot wait to handle that one there,” she said with venom in her voice.

I was just ready to get this over with.

“So what is our game plan?” I asked hoping to move this along a little.
